It was dark and damp. Yet, the seclusion was nice. The ability to get away from everyone, even if it was in the dungeons. Emmeline sat herself in a nook, lighting a lantern. The soft orange glow bathed her skin and the open journal in front of her. The quill was now poised over the paper, fresh ink shining and gently blotting the pages. She had a lot to think about lately. Then the scratching began, filling the silence with it. Time passed either slowly or faster than she was aware. Her back was against the cold, stone wall letting the coolness of the rocks seep through her light blazer, leaving her skin slightly chilled. It was a feeling she enjoyed.

She closed his eyes after a while, not comprehending how much time had passed. Flicking her hair out of her eyes, looking at the page spread out before her. The joint lines and swirls combined just how she wanted to reflect a picture of a dark dank hallway, lit only in the middle (about half way up the page) by a single lantern, that washed a small girl with light, the girl looked almost child like but for some reason wore Emmeline's clothing and Emmeline's book, the girl in the picture even had the same quill as Emmeline. As she inspected her work Emmeline eyes fell onto the long figure, the little girl she had drawn to portray herself looked no older than 12 and from the looks of it; crying. It could have been a smudge of ink but Emmeline knew that if she could she would be crying, just like that little girl. The girl she was and the girl she never wanted to be again.

The tips of her fingers were already stained to almost a complete black. It was the curse of being an artist in a world where they used bottle of ink and bird feathers to write with. The constant stains on her clothes and skin almost always annoyed this Ravenclaw as it would annoy anyone who took pride in looking their best.

Glancing at the book over her knees, Emmeline gave the thick book a small nudge so it fell to the floor beside her, the pages flipping as gravity did its work until what would appear to be a blank page was left facing the world, upon closer inspection Emmeline knew there was a faint outline of Dumbledore that she had done that summer, a reflection of the way his image was fading and hope was deserting the people of Hogwarts. He was bored.

The common room door closed with a satisfying snap, and Charlotte breathed out a sigh as she leant against the adjourning wall. The excitement of being back at Hogwarts left many of the younger students unbearable, and the constant squeals of delight, and shrill laughter set the girls teeth on edge. Suppressing a sudden shiver, she absently lifted a hand to her head, smoothing non-existent wisps of hair back down. She let her hand drop numbly to her side and she glanced first one way and then the next. 'Any direction is as good as the other' she thought to herself. Before turning left, and delving deeper into the dungeons.

Charlotte enjoyed being back at Hogwarts, she truly did, for it was an escape from her parents, consistently watchful eye. -Though hardly from her brothers- But the atmosphere at the start of a new year always wore her down, leaving the girl feeling more tired then she really was. Already many fights had broken out between her housemates, and while not a single curse was muttered, the screeching and stomping of tiny feet would make any saint want a drink.

An intersection the hallway cut of any further musings from the young girl, and she chose a path a random, taking a right. She continued her stroll through the near dark dungeons, the slight thud of her heel was the indication of her wandering.

Charlotte once again lost herself in thought, ignoring the analogous walls accompanying her. The near darkness of the dungeons hardly affected her as she thought back to her first year. She wondered briefly if her own emotions had run as high as the new first years. Such a thought had the girl indecisive, For while she was sure she did in-fact act in such a way, her own thoughts and opinions of herself refused to admit it. \Shrugging it aside, Charlotte came to another corner.

Turning the only way she could, Charlotte found herself confronted with a meagre light. She frowned slightly and made her way forwards. Who would be down here now? She was almost positive it was not another Slytherin. There was a party going on when she left. She slipped a hand in the pocket of her cloak, gripping the wand that lay there. She doubted it would be needed, but she did not wish to take the chance. When she reached the circle of light however, the girl relaxed her grip slightly.

An open book, seemingly at random, lay on the floor at the Emmeline's feet, the girl in question seemed to examine the page. Charlotte's eyes followed those of the older Ravenclaw, and frowned in slightly confusion when she saw the empty page. Wierd. Shifting slightly so she could lean against the cold stone wall, Charlotte returned her gaze to Emmeline.
"What brings you down here? She asked, not unkindly.

((Ooc: Sorry, I have to say, I am proud of that post! Bic:))
