Character Basics
-Character Name: Emmeline Ilsa Vance
-Character Age: 14

-Current Location: Hogwarts
-Blood-type: HALF
-Strengths: good memory, punctual, level headed, polite but harsh, charmer, good at silent/wandless magic when upset.
-Weaknesses: Her grades, over bearing determination, heights
-Personality: Emmeline strives to be the perfect daughter her family memebers expect her to be and with a Mother who is never pleased, it’s not all that easy. She works her butt off to get good grades so her mother can brag about it to her friends. To a point where most teenagers give up and just don’t care any more. But Emmeline would do anything to make her family proud of her –and to satisfy her lust for power and fame. Anything.

Brains can only get you so far when you’re in one of the most highly recommended schools for witches and wizards. And competing with other girls like Lily Evans and so many others it’s hard to keep at the top. But her determination to be the best and her endless persistance make it hard for her to just ‘want to give up’. Not that she wants to give up; she would never be able to face the self injected humiliation if she did.

She’s cocky. There I said it. She has never been able to admit defeat and has this egoistic belief that she is always right. And when someone disagrees…it breaks out in one very long argument. And when someone- though it rarely happens- does prove her wrong…everyone else is advised to stay clear of the highly agitated teen.
What Emma means when she says she likes analyzing things is that spending time observing and figuring out problems/people/events bring much joy to her. They are like brain teasers. Cracking the mystery is what she just simply lives to do. But this erupts as a huge flaw in her as well. She, being the neat freak and perfectionist that she is, pays a lot of attention to the small details of things. And paying attention to every detail people say – even when they don’t mean every word - and her analyzing addiction causes her to read a little more than the literal meaning. Making the true meaning misinterpreted.

She twists and turns things to make others abide her and uses things they say against them. How else would she get to where she was? Making use of others was one of her many ‘talents’. A controlling, bossy attitude was probably the only thing she inherited from her "step-dad" besides his last name. Oh, and his competitiveness as well I suppose. Though I doubt she would ever admit she was competitive. Just… determine.

She thinks to highly of her self a times. Alright, most of the time. She knows she’s a genius, pretty and graceful. She’s not modest about hiding her many gifts to the world. Why should she? She was from a long line of Ravenclaws after all. She was from a breed of excellent well known witches and wizards with many wondrous contributions. Why should she cower from fame?

She loves books. She has read almost every book in the library a home and is on the list of top five students to borrow the most books from Hogwarts. Enough said.

Ambitious is the only way to round this girl up. Indeed from the very first few moments most folks set their eyes on her, they cans see the ambitious aura coming off of her. Her dreams and goals seem far fetch for a regular student, but Emma knows what she wants. And as I said, she would do anything to accomplish them.

Character Appearance
-Height/Weight: Emmeline is a very small, petite girl. She only comes up to about 5'2" Weighing in at only 110 pounds she looks small and delicate but can pack a lot of power when she wants to and can play quite rough.
-Hair color: She has dark brown/auburn colored hair. She used to keep it quite long but has kept it short for the last few years, normally around ear length.
-Eye color: Along with the dark color of her hair are also her eyes, the two dark browns go along well with her tannish/fair skin.
-Unique Features: At the base of her neck Emmeline as a star shaped birth mark that is apparently in the exact same place as her biological fathers.
-Any other descriptions: Besides her Ravenclaw school robes Emmeline likes to wear muggle clothing. She keeps it simple and crazy at the same time, in some odd divine way. Light colors, lacy, ribbony, revealing, any of those kinds of tops will normally be adorning her top half, clinging to show the little curves she has. Emmeline loves to wear skirts. She doesn't wear them in a slutty way, though sometimes they will be quite short, but she thinks a lot of them are cute so it suits her way. On the flip side Emmeline also likes to wear cool colors, when I say cool I mean darker colors; blues, greens, black. She'll wear anything that is comfy, even if it looks like pajam,as. An accessory that is ALWAYS on her is a silver ring with the Ravenclaw symbol on it along with a few other designs and a blue sapphire in the middle

Character History

Father - Nicolas Hickman

-Family History: (Any important information that may be connected to your character's family)
-Character's History: In the autumn of 1956, Rose Lee, upon graduation from Hogwarts married a muggle born wizard named Nicolas Hickman. Nicolas was an honorary Auror, whom after having only a few but blissful years with his young wife, became one of the many that paid for the safety of everyone else. By Death. Without the knowledge, that his wife was pregnant.

To avoid the scandal of society, Rose remarried – not that it helped- to a muggle named Dominic Vance. Dominic was rich, popular in those muggle parties and celebrations and altogether too naïve to realize his wife could do the strangest things, like pop out of nowhere. And when Em was born, being the gentleman he was, Dominic treated the girl like.... like how any man would treat his step daughter. With compassion in front of his wife, and with contempt when she turned her back.

Though she knew she was unlike Emmeline caught on fairly quickly on how to get the things she either wanted or needed to get by. She ‘enjoyed’ her childhood. She spent hours reading under the oak tree in their garden. By the time she was ten she had read Kim, Jane Eyre, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and so much more thanks to "papa!"

Though family rivalry often happens in cases like this, Emmeline found that she could aviod it all by submerging herself in a book and the life of Jane. She found comfort in the fact that when ever her mother and "Dominic" fought, they had each other, Jane, Em and a glass of cherry soda. Their little hidden corner was theirs, and no one else’s. They were inseparatable.

Things got worst when Em received a letter from Hogwarts. Dominic screamed in out rage. He was mad. He thought he was going crazy, witches and wizards indeed. It was a fib, a tall tale, a sick and cruel joke created by none other than his evil step daughter to twist his mind. He was sick of her. He packed his bags and left. Forgetting about Rose in his frenzy to leave, who stood by the door watching in her usual silence as the man she loved screamed at her daughter, slapped her and stromed off. It was her biggest regret and since than the older woman has walked around in a haze, only aknowledging Emmeline when she had too.

Emmeline left for Hogwarts that year. Working from the bottom of her class to the top Emmeline found she didn't have much time for friends in her first few years. But maybe it was worth it. The teachers praised her. Her peers accepted her even if they never spoke much after the required "hi" "Morning". And when she went home on Chrismas, she thought she saw something in the way her mother looked at her. As though her mother was proud of her. But if she was, Emma was never exactly sure. Sure her mother showed off her grades to her grown up friends. But Emma suspected that Rose only did that for the sake of her Pure-blood family names’ sake. Not Emma’s.

Still Emmeline strived to do her best. In hopes that maybe someday, her mother would accept her and her father would come back. She is still waiting for this day but now she is a little more laid back, after spending the summer alone while her mother toured Europe looking for "Vance" Emmeline plans to lay back off her school work this year and spend time getting to know her year mates and having some of this talked about fun.
